Petra Ehlert (born October 28, 1966 in Eisenach ) is a German actress .

Life

Petra Ehlert grew up in Dresden . From 1986 to 1990 she completed an acting training at the Leipzig Theater Academy "Hans Otto" in Leipzig . She has been employed at the New Theater in Halle since 1990. Her most important roles there: "Maria" in the Shamgorod Trial , "Marthe Rull" in The Broken Jug , "Shen Te" / "Shui Ta" in The Good Man of Sezuan and the "Jewish Mother" in Kindertransport . Petra Ehlert also works as a drama lecturer at the Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy University of Music and Theater in Leipzig and at the Saxony Theater Academy . For the Vorarlberger Landestheater she was on stage as "Beth" in Friends of Donald Margulies' dinner .

Petra Ehlert has also appeared in front of the camera in television productions such as Polizeiruf 110 or Tatort . Petra Ehlert became known nationwide for the 1991 film Superstau . Here she played the resolute Viola Pippig from East Germany. In Volker Schlöndorff's The Legend of Rita in 2000, she appeared in a supporting role.
