Petra Joumaah (born September 15, 1955 in Langeloh ) is a German politician ( CDU ). She has been a member of the Lower Saxony State Parliament since February 19, 2013 .

Life

Joumaah trained as a pediatric nurse. Before she was elected to the state parliament in 2013, she worked as a pediatric nurse for 35 years, most recently in a pediatric practice in Bad Münder . She is married and has four children.

Joumaah is a member of the CDU. She is deputy chairwoman of the CDU city association Bad Münder and a member of the board of the CDU district association Hameln-Pyrmont. In 2006 she was elected to the Bad Münder City Council for the first time and is also the local mayor there .

In the Lower Saxony state election on January 20, 2013 , Joumaah won the constituency of Bad Pyrmont as a direct candidate of the CDU with 39.8% of the first votes and thus made it into the Lower Saxony state parliament.
