Petra Weber (musicologist)

Petra Weber (born October 24, 1954 in Wetzlar ; married child houses) is a German musicologist .

Life

She attended the Landgraf-Ludwigs-Gymnasium in Giessen , where she graduated from high school in 1972. Kindhäuser studied musicology, art history and philosophy at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich with a. a. Wolfgang Braunfels , Norbert Huse and Hermann Krings and obtained his doctorate in 1980 under Jürgen Eppelsheim and Johannes Holthusen with the dissertation “The songs of Mussorgsky . Origin and appearance ”.

Since 1999 she has been professor of musicology at the University of Koblenz-Landau . She has published a variety of cultural studies articles, including a. in the journals Universitas , Archiv für Musikwissenschaft and Fono Forum .
