Norbert Huse

Norbert Huse (born December 16, 1941 in Gotha ; died June 1, 2013 in Munich ) was a German art historian .

Life

Huse's dissertation dealt with Gian Lorenzo Bernini's Roman four rivers fountain , the habilitation with Giovanni Bellini . He conducted research on Andrea Palladio and wrote a study on the Venice of the Renaissance with Wolfgang Wolters . Huse wrote about the new building in the Weimar Republic and about Le Corbusier .

Huse taught at the University of Munich and in the USA and from 1980 until his retirement in 2007 was Professor of Art History at the Faculty of Architecture at the Technical University of Munich . In 2001 Huse received the Karl-Friedrich-Schinkel-Ring from the German National Committee for Monument Protection for his life's work.
