Petra Oelker

Petra Oelker (* 1947 in Cloppenburg ) is a German journalist and writer.

Live and act

Petra Oelker studied social pedagogy and theology for a few semesters. She then worked as a medical-technical assistant and then embarked on her journalistic career: first she worked for the Hamburger Rundschau , then was the head of duty at the daily newspaper (taz) and finally an editor for the women's magazine Brigitte . As a journalist, she has already written books for young people and non-fiction. Today she works mainly as a book author.

Her literary debut, Tod am Zollhaus, was such a great success that it was followed by nine more historical Hamburg novels by 2010, with Hamburg and the comedian Rosina, the wholesale merchant Claes Herrmanns and Weddemeister Wagner in the center .
