Petra Reategui

Petra Reategui (born December 17, 1948 in Karlsruhe ) is a German writer .

life and work

Petra Reategui first studied translation and interpreting for Italian and French at the University of Heidelberg , then sociology at the Free University of Berlin . From 1977 she initially worked as a freelance journalist for newspapers and radio and completed an internship at Deutsche Welle in Cologne from 1980 to 1982 .

From 1982 to 2003, Petra Reategui worked as a radio and television editor at Deutsche Welle. Reports and research often took her to Africa, Asia and Latin America. Since 2004 she has been working as a freelance writer and translator again . She writes short stories, radio plays and radio features and above all historical novels and detective novels, which mostly go back to actual events.

Petra Reategui has lived in Cologne since 1980. She is a member of the PEN , the Association of German Writers, the Association of Literature Scene Cologne and the Cologne authors' group FAUST.
