Petroleuciscus kurui is a medium-sized carp fish from eastern Turkey.

Systematics

Petroleuciscus is a genus of seven species of ray-fin carp fish. Originally the genus Petroleuciscus and Squalius was subordinate to the genus Leuciscus . Several types of chub and hazel from the Pontocaspic region belong to it :

  • Black Sea Chub ( Petroleuciscus borysthenicus )
  • Petroleuciscus esfahani
  • Petroleuciscus kurui
  • Petroleuciscus persidis
  • Petroleuciscus smyrnaeus
  • Syr Darya Hazel ( Petroleuciscus squaliusculus )
  • Petroleuciscus ulanus

Petroleuciscus kurui is endemic to the upper reaches of the Tigris and its tributaries in southeastern Turkey

description

Petroleuciscus kurui is very similar in habit to the chub . The species can grow to be over 86 centimeters long and weigh about 10 kilograms. A capital copy is guaranteed from the Yüksekova Süyü, a tributary of the Great Zab , a right tributary of the Tigris. Almost nothing is known about the way of life of P. kurui.
