Petrus Johannes Izaak de Fremery
Petrus Johannes Izaak de Fremery also: Petrus Jan Isacus de Fremerij (born April 29, 1797 in Utrecht , † September 9, 1855 ibid) was a Dutch physician and chemist.
Life
The son of Nicolaas Cornelis de Fremery matriculated on October 1, 1813 as a student of medicine at the University of Utrecht . On May 10, 1819, he received his doctorate in natural sciences with his treatise Specimen medicum inaugurale de hydrope ligamentorum uteri , and the following day he obtained a medical doctorate with his thesis Specimen zoölogicum, sistens observationes, praesertim osteologicas, de casuario Novae Hollandiae . In 1824 he became professor of chemistry at the veterinary school in Utrecht, which task he performed until 1851.
On June 24, 1829 he was appointed associate professor of chemistry at the Utrecht University, which he took on on June 24, 1829 with the introductory speech De ratione, qua chemia artibus adhibita, in commune patriae emolumentum optime tradatur . As such, he also took part in the organizational tasks of the educational institution and was rector of the Alma Mater in 1848/49 . He had also served on various Utrecht medical commissions. In 1815 he became a corresponding member of the Royal Dutch Academy of Sciences , was the initiator of the Dutch Society for the Promotion of Pharmacy and in 1853 became a Knight of the Order of the Dutch Lion .

Fremery married on January 4, 1821 in Utrecht Maria Kops (born January 3, 1798 in Leiden; † August 20, 1869 ibid), the daughter of Jan Kops and Catharina Daams. There are children from this marriage. We know of these:
