Paul Peuerl
Paul Peuerl (also Bäurl , Beuerlin , Bäwerl , Agricola ; * baptized June 13, 1570 in Stuttgart , † after 1625) was a German-Austrian composer , organist and organ builder .
Life
From November 1601 Paul Peuerl was organist in Horn and from autumn 1609 in Steyr , where he also worked as an organ builder. He built organs in Steyr, Horn, Enns and in Wilhering Abbey, among others . The first publications (1625) of non-Italian trio sonatas , which require two melody parts to be accompanied by a figured bass , come from Peuerl . His achievements in the direction of the suite are seen as significant and trend-setting for his time.
Musicology has been dealing with his works since 1865. A complete edition appeared in 1929.
