Pfaff-Florian from Aichstetten
Pfaff-Florian von Aichstetten (* around 1490 in Aichstetten ; † after 1525) was a German captain of the Christian Association during the German Peasants' War . His birth name was Florian Greisel.
Florian Greisel was originally a pastor in the Waldburg town of Aichstetten since 1491. In the Battle of Leprosenberg on Good Friday April 14, 1525 near Bad Wurzach , he was the leader of the Christian Association against the troops of the Swabian Federation . The battle was lost for the peasants. Pfaff-Florian was one of the survivors of the battle and fled to the Swiss Confederation after negotiating the Weingartner Treaty . His opponent was George III. Truchsess von Waldburg-Zeil , who was appointed "Reichserbtruchsess" on July 27, 1526 in Toledo for his services in suppressing the peasant uprisings of Emperor Charles V.
The municipality of Aichstetten named a street in its municipality, the Pfaff-Florian-Weg after Pfaff-Florian.
