Catholic parish church of St. Peter and Paul in Aichkirchen

The Roman Catholic parish church of Aichkirchen is located in Aichkirchen in the municipality of Aichkirchen in the district of Wels-Land in Upper Austria . The church consecrated to Saints Peter and Paul belongs to the dean's office Gaspoltshofen in the diocese of Linz . The church and the cemetery are under monument protection .

history

A church was mentioned in a document in 1136.

architecture

The small late Gothic church building has a single nave, three and a half bay nave with a mesh rib vault with a shift of the rib structure into opposing triangular bays. The retracted two-bay rib vaulted choir, also opposite, closes with a three-eighths closure. The three-axis west gallery has a groin vault. The remarkable south portal from the beginning of the 16th century has a Gothic porch. The sacristy portal has a framework. The roof turret in the west is late baroque.

Furnishing

The decor is neo-Gothic. The late Gothic statue of the Virgin Mary on the high altar is from the end of the 15th century. In the choir there are the statues Peter, Paul, Wolfgang and Leopold around 1694. There is a baroque figure group Ölberg.
