history

Because of the recurring floods of the Danube, the parish was transferred to the Kirchberg am Wagram parish church in 1147 . Until 1715 the church was a branch church of the Göttweig monastery and became the patronage church of the Grafenegg rule . In 1784 the church was raised again to a parish church. The vestibule was added in 1860. In 1933 a chapel was added to the southeast of the church. The tower was restored in 1980.

architecture

As a so-called Josephine Hall Church, the church shows itself with a simple long house with pilaster strips. On the south side the facade has a curved gable and a round window and rectangular windows on the side. The monumental vestibule has a gabled arched portal and rectangular windows. The north tower with corner pilasters has rectangular sound windows and a pyramid helmet. The sacristy with a staircase to the tower stands northwest by the choir.

The interior of the church has a nave and a slightly raised, slightly retracted choir with a flat ceiling and walls with pilaster strips.

The sandstone figure of Johannes Nepomuk on the church square shows the year 1715.
