The Roman Catholic parish church Apetlon stands in the center of the village of Apetlon in the market town of Apetlon in the Neusiedl am See district in Burgenland . The parish church of St. Margaretha belongs to the dean's office in Frauenkirchen in the Eisenstadt diocese . The church is a listed building .

history

The old parish was abolished during the Reformation and rebuilt in 1702. The inscription above the portal shows 1797 RNV 1892 Renov. 1939. The church was expanded in 1974/1975 with the architect Josef Patzelt . The facility was restored in 1976/1979.

architecture

The east facade with a curved gable has an integrated facade tower with a stone helmet. The late baroque yoke has a square vault with a gallery with a broad, bulging parapet on two stone pillars. This is followed by an extension of modernity.

Furnishing

The high altar from the end of the 18th century has columns with plaited ornamentation and shows St. Margaretha with a remarkable iconography with L. Stiberger f. 1798 designated. The side figures depict the Saints Nicholas, Wendelin, Magdalena and Katharina. The side altar shows the miraculous image of the Black Madonna from the end of the 18th century. The pulpit with the relief Petri Fischzug is marked 1800. The 14 stations of the cross are from the first half of the 19th century. The oil painting Pentecost miracle is from the middle of the 18th century.
