Ship Petri pulpit
In the visual arts, the ship Petri pulpit is a pulpit - the traditional place of preaching in a Christian church - that depicts the fishing boat of the Apostle Peter .
Biblical background
The design refers to the miracle of Jesus of the miraculous fishing ( Lk 5,1–11 EU and Joh 21,3–6 EU ). In the boat, Jesus and the disciples Peter , James and John are usually shown. The sermon delivered from the pulpit is thus interpreted as "casting a net" along the lines of the "fisherman" Peter and all the apostles.
