history

from the nave to the choir

A church was mentioned in a document around 1100. The church, built from 1732 to 1735, is considered the main work of the baroque master builder Jakob Pawanger . The church was restored in 1832, 1863 and 1912.

architecture

The stately single-nave church building has unusually large dimensions. The two-bay nave with a flat hanging dome vault has a wide constricted structural member with double pilasters and barrel vaults between the two bays. The retracted single-bay choir with a flat hanging dome and a semi-elliptical end. On the west side of the nave, corresponding to the choir, there is a retracted barrel-vaulted porch for the music gallery and the vestibule. The west facade is in three parts and is determined by the built-in west tower, the walls of which are concave. The tower carries an onion with a lantern. To the south of the west gallery is an elliptical St. Mary's chapel with stucco.

Furnishing

The high altar was created by Anton Högler (1989) from Salzburg. The high altar painting Laurentius was painted by the painter Pieter de Neve (1689). The side altars in the nave from 1737 are dedicated to Barbara, the Rosary, Stephen and John the Baptist and show altar paintings by the painter Johann Georg Morzer (1737). The pulpit in the shape of a ship was created by Joachim Ertl (1770) from Lambach, compare the ship pulpits in the parish churches of Traunkirchen , Fischlham and Tautendorf . In the niches of the nave there are larger-than-life wooden figures of saints from the second quarter of the 18th century.

The late Gothic crucifix from 1520/1530 from the former front arch is now in the mortuary chamber. In the chamber of paraments there are three remarkable late Gothic panel paintings Flagellation , Ecce Homo , Carrying the Cross from 1522.
