The parish church of Arnreit is on the southern outskirts of the Rohrbacher Bundesstrasse in the municipality of Arnreit in the upper Mühlviertel in Upper Austria . The Roman Catholic parish church , consecrated to Saint Lawrence of Rome , belongs to the Altenfelden deanery in the Diocese of Linz . The church is a listed building ( list entry ).

history

From 1926 to 1941 there was a cooperator exposition of the Altenfelden parish , from 1941 to 1950 a parish exposition , with 1950 its own parish.

The church in Arnreit was built between 1895 and 1900 with the master builder Franz Schiefthaler in the neo-Romanesque style. The church tower was built from 1953 to 1955 with the architect Reinhold Kroh. The roof turret was put on in 1956. Restorations were outside in 1948/1950, 1970, and inside in 1948/1950, 1970, and 1982.

architecture

The church building in the late historicism in the arched style is enriched with romanizing details with a quotation function. A retracted square choir adjoins the hall. There are buttresses on the nave, the middle yoke is accentuated with a wider two-lane round arched window. The west tower has a mighty arched gate and has a tent roof. On both sides of the church are symmetrical two-storey extensions with a staircase and a confessional chapel. In a round arch niche on the southern front is a rural crucifix.

The three-bay hall is vaulted with a belt-lined needle cap barrel, the choir has a square vault. The wall structure is structured with mighty layered wall templates. The west gallery on Tuscan columns was later extended. The groin-vaulted tower ground floor is also the vestibule, the west portal is a stylized neo-romantic column portal. Figurative glass windows in the eastern nave yoke show the saints Elisabeth and Norbert by Josef Raukamp (1970), in the choir the Last Supper by Alfred Stifter (1970).

Furnishing

The historicist furnishings with altars by Ludwig Linzinger (1901/1904) were removed in 1970, the figures were left as individual figures.

Herbert Collini (1978) built the organ with II manuals and 20 registers. Melchior Schorer names a bell 1682 and shows a relief St. Georg, Andreas Simon Röder names a bell in 1762.
