architecture

Church exterior

The church has a mighty elongated octagonal nave with a northern vestibule and a southern choir under a gable roof and hipped roofs with stepped ridge heights. A five-axis arcade under a hipped pent roof on round columns with sculptured cube capitals or consoles with symbolic animal figures by the sculptor Franz Barwig the Younger (1957) was presented to the north hall . The high square tower in the northwest with high round arched sound windows and an onion helmet is connected to the north hall by a narrow transition yoke. The weekday chapel in the north-east south of the vestibule is under a half-hipped roof. In the gable of the vestibule is a sgraffito St. Christophorus by the painter Sepp Zöchling (1957). Above the three portals of the vestibule are reliefs of Christ Pantocrator flanked by two angels by the sculptor Franz Xaver Ölzant (1957).

organ

Organ of the parish church

Originally, an organ from 1905 was installed as a temporary arrangement in 1960. Because this became irreparable, it was decided in 1992 to buy a new organ, which was put into operation in 1997 for the 40th anniversary of the parish. This organ with 1319 pipes and a total weight of approx. 3900 kg was made by Rieger Orgelbau . It has two manuals , a pedal and 21 stops with a range of C - g3 / C - f1.
