The Donnersbachwald parish church is located in Donnersbachwald in the market town of Irdning-Donnersbachtal in the Liezen district in Styria . The Roman Catholic parish church , subject to the double patronage of the venerated saints Leonhard von Limoges and Patritius , belongs to the dean's office of Upper Ennstal - Styrian Salzkammergut in the diocese of Graz-Seckau . The church and the former cemetery are under monument protection ( list entry ).

history

According to tradition, the church was inspired by Empress Maria Theresa and built in 1754. For the first 10 years the church was incorporated into the Rottenmann Abbey.

architecture

The church shows facades with pilaster strips. The ridge turret with a pointed helmet stands over the main front. The sacristy is by the choir.

The interior of the church shows a two-bay nave and a one-and-a-half bay choir with a straight end with beveled corners. The nave has square vaults on belts, the choir on pillars. The wooden gallery has a protruding center.

Furnishing

A new high altar shows the high altar painting of the Assumption with Leonhard and Patritius from the construction period. In the choir are four baroque statues from the third quarter of the 18th century. Next to the high altar there are two pictures of the Annunciation and the Birth from the first half of the 18th century.

The right side altar from 1910 in baroque forms shows the miraculous image of Mary of the Good Council from the middle of the 18th century.

Friedrich Wagner built the organ in 1854.
