Parish Church Dornbirn-Rohrbach
The Roman Catholic parish church Dornbirn-Rohrbach is in Dornbirn District Rohrbach in Dornbirn in Vorarlberg . It is consecrated to St. Christopher and belongs to the dean's office in Dornbirn in the diocese of Feldkirch . The building is a listed building .
history
The church was built in 1963 and 1964 according to plans by Norbert Kopf and Norbert Klotz . The parish was separated from the St. Martin parish in 1964 .
Church building
- Church exterior
The church building is a hall building with a flat roof. The choir has moved in and just finished. A tower is built in the north. The former baptismal chapel and the current Marienkapelle form the connection between the church and the tower.
- Church interior
The church is inside a hall with a flat wooden ceiling, which is supported by strong pilaster strips. The choir is drawn in and rectangular. There is a straight gallery on the north side. The concrete glass windows are from Albert Birkle . On the left side “ Elijah in the chariot on the Ascension” and “ Tobias with Archangel Raphael ” are shown. On the right side the "Flight into Egypt" and " Paul and his companions in the sea storm" as well as the "Baptism of the eunuch of Ethiopia by the deacon Philip " are shown. In the former baptistery, fish are depicted on the window as symbols of Christ and on the upper floor, a rectangular room with a flat ceiling, there is a Holy Spirit window.
Furnishing
On the altar wall is a sgraffito depicting the washing of the feet and the Last Supper. It is labeled " Hofer73 ". The altar cross, the tabernacle and the candlesticks were made by E. Lutz according to plans by Emil Gehrer . On the altar wall of the Marienkapelle is a figure of St. Mary with child. On the side are relief scenes from the life of Mary.
