Rohrbach is the 5th district of the city of Dornbirn ( Vorarlberg , Austria ). Together with the Schoren district , Rohrbach was only declared a separate district in 1994. Before that it belonged partly to the districts of Markt and Haselstauden .
Today the district with over 7,755 inhabitants (as of 2012) is the third largest district of Dornbirn. The district is considered to be a new development area and consists mainly of new buildings - mainly single-family houses and increasingly smaller multi-party residential complexes.
Geographical location
Rohrbach is a classic area and extends over a largely flat area in the northwest of the Dornbirn municipal area. The district is bounded in the south by the Lindau – Bludenz railway line , in the east by Vorarlberger Straße (L 190) and to the west and northwest by the course of the Dornbirner Ach . The district was settled from the southeast, where the district at the Dornbirn train station borders the central city district of Markt, and to the west, where the settlement area merges into natural reed landscapes and local recreation areas.
Infrastructure in the district
- Parish church of St. Christoph, in Rohrbach (1963–1964).
- This church was built according to the plans of Norbert Kopf and Norbert Klotz .
The Forach power plant is located in the Forach district . The restoration of near the wastewater treatment plant Dornbirn Schwarzach located Forachgrabens was 2011 Vorarlberg winning project of the water of life funds.
