history

A church was mentioned in a document in 1599. The church was elevated to a parish church in 1869. The church was expanded in 1964/1965. 1986 was an exterior restoration with a restoration of the baroque architectural decor. On the western outer wall is a quarry stone from a Roman epitaph with local personal names.

architecture

The church, which is essentially medieval, has a tower south of the choir with probably Romanesque round-arched biforias in the bell storey.

The round apse has a stitch cap barrel vault from the 19th century. The round triumphal arch is strongly drawn in. The renewed and enlarged nave has a stenciled painted wooden ceiling with six painted coffers and floral ornaments with painted portraits of Laurentius and Agidius from 1693 and probably the portraits of the donors Niclas Stöfanz and Lipe Avgenstin. The wooden ceiling was transferred here from Pirk.

Furnishing

The high altar and the left and right side altars (all around 1670/1680) have simple aedicules on small plinths with small attachments and are furnished with simple ornaments. The high altar bears the statues Vitus, Helena and Florian. The statues of the side altars, on the right Sacred Heart, Bartholomew and Antonius, on the left Mother of God, Catherine and Barbara and above Apostle Andrew, are from the 19th century.

In 1997 the church got a new organ.
