history

A chapel was assumed for the 13th or 14th century. A consecration was documented in 1497. In the 18th century the church was rebuilt in Baroque style and consecrated again in 1778. In 1891 the church was elevated to a parish church.

architecture

The baroque hall church has a south tower. The exterior of the church is kept simple. The nave and the choir in the same width with arched windows have a common shingle roof. The tower on the south side of the nave - in the core probably from the 13th century - has coupled round-arched sound windows and has a bricked gable-top helmet. In the niche above the west portal there is a figure of the Madonna from the second half of the 17th century.

The four-bay nave has a barrel vault with stitch caps with painted belts with pilasters. The gallery is made of wood. An apse with a wide east wall with beveled corners connects to a wide, round-arched triumphal arch.

The painted Rococo decorations and pictures in medallions in the Nazarene style were created by the painter Josef Haun (1913).

Furnishing

The high altar is from 1776. The high altar picture of the Assumption was painted by Josef Zangerl (1776), the statues of the saints Kassian, Katharina, Barbara and Martin were ascribed to Josef Georg Witwer .

The side altars were made in 1777. The left side altar bears a gothic carved figure Pietà from around 1370/1380 as a miraculous image, the baroque statues of Saints George and Florian and, in the excerpt, angel with Arma Christi, was created by Andreas Kölle in the first half of the 18th century . The right side altar shows the altar sheet St. Antonius before Maria by Josef Zangerl, the upper picture shows St. The changing family , the characters Joseph, John the Baptist and Archangel Michael were attributed to Josef Clement's widower . A small crucifixion group is framed on the altar.

The pulpit with reliefs of the four church fathers on the pulpit and the figure group Höllensturz on the sound cover from the middle of the 18th century was created by Andreas Kölle. Further figures, St. Margaretha (1705), the station reliefs (1735), the triumphal arch cross (1739) were created by Andreas Kölle.

The organ was created by Franz Reinisch II (1907).
