The Roman Catholic parish church Freinberg is located in Freinberg in the municipality of Freinberg in the Schärding district in Upper Austria . The church consecrated to St. Willibald belongs to the deanery Schärding in the diocese of Linz . The church is a listed building .

history

A church was documented in 1179. A Gothic church was rebuilt after a fire in 1784 and rebuilt in the 19th century.

architecture

The slightly retracted two-bay choir with Bohemian caps closes with a three-eighths closure. The nave has a flat ceiling. The tower in the southern choir corner has a pointed helmet from 1858/1859.

Furnishing

The high altar from the beginning of the 19th century shows the altarpiece of the three siblings Willibald, Wunibald and Walburga painted by Joseph Bergler the Younger (1804) and bears the statues Richard and Wuna in Rococo costumes .

There is a bell from the 15th century.
