Gilles Andruet

Gilles Andruet (born March 30, 1958 in Paris , † August 21 or 22, 1995 in Saulx-les-Chartreux ) was a French chess player .

Andruet, whose father is rally driver Jean-Claude Andruet , was named international champion in 1982 and won the French championship in 1988 . He took part with the French team in the 1982 , 1984 and 1988 Chess Olympiads and the 1989 European Team Championship. Gilles Andruet achieved his highest rating of 2450 in July 1988 and played in the German Bundesliga from 1984 to 1988 for SV 03/25 Koblenz .

Andruet was last seen alive on August 21, 1995 and found dead one day later in the Yvette near Saulx-les-Chartreux .
