The Roman Catholic parish church Großmürbisch is in the municipality Großmürbisch ( Croatian : " Veliki Medveš ", Hungarian : " Alsómedves ") in the district of Güssing in Burgenland . It is consecrated to the holy King Stephan of Hungary and belongs to the Deanery Güssing .

history

The church was built in 1900. From 1942 it was a branch of the Güssing parish and was endowed with "all rights and duties of a parish" by the parish. On November 9, 1966 she was elevated to parish church.

Architecture and equipment

The oil painting that is now under the west gallery was the former high altar painting. It shows the holy King Stephen of Hungary in a carved frame. It was created around 1800.
