The parish church Großnondorf stands on the Anger in the middle of the village Großnondorf in the market town of Guntersdorf in the Hollabrunn district in Lower Austria . The Roman Catholic parish church consecrated to St. Pankratius belongs to the Hollabrunn deanery in the Archdiocese of Vienna . The church is a listed building ( list entry ).

history

The village was mentioned in a document in 1141 as a branch of the parish church Sitzendorf an der Schmida and in 1315 it became a vicariate . During the Reformation the endowment was withdrawn and in 1544 it became a branch of Sitzendorf again. Around 1600 a stately patronage parish was formed, which in 1698 was merged with the parish of the Schöngrabern parish church . In 1744 they were separated again.

Today's nave and tower are essentially from the 14th century. There are late baroque changes with high arched windows and a northern extension of a chapel. In 1904 neo-Gothic additions were made.

architecture

A west tower is presented to the nave, which is essentially medieval. The southern wall of the wall house shows pointed arch windows and the rest of a niche with three-pass tracery and in front of a round arched portal a pointed arched gate porch with a relief angel in the gable. The core of the three-storey tower from the 14th century has a tower and tower from the 18th century with a baroque facade design.

The recessed choir square with a groin vault connects to the flat-roofed nave. In the nave there are simple stucco mirrors from the mid-18th century with the IHS mark in the central oval medallion. In the long passes there are frescoes depicting the four evangelists, probably from the 1930s.

The triumphal arch is rounded. The wider choir with a short choir yoke and a three-eighths closure is neo-Gothic from 1904.

Furnishing

The neo-Romanesque high altar around 1900 with a round arched, triangular-gabled column retable shows the altar sheet martyrs in a lion arena and bears the figures of Johannes Nepomuk and Francis of Assisi in the side niches.

The organ was created by Max Zachistal and Franz Capek (1887). There is a tuba by Josef Cidrich from the third quarter of the 19th century.
