Parish Church Kirchfidisch
The Roman Catholic parish church of St. Peter and Paul are in Kirchfidisch in the municipality of Kohfidisch in Burgenland . It is consecrated to Saints Peter and Paul and belongs to the dean's office in Rechnitz .
history
The church was built in an elevated position around 1740. A west tower was added around 1770. In 1779 the church was elevated to a parish church. In 1868 the building was extended to the east.
Church building
The orientation of the church building is SW – NE. The elongated nave has a nave with four bays with groin vaults between belts and pilasters. In front of the SW facade, the church tower is lined up with a pointed helmet. In the north-east the church was extended with two transept arms and a choir, each with an apse closed on five sides. Sacristies are built on both sides of the choir.
Facility
The neo-Gothic interior dates from the second half of the 19th century. The baptismal font in the right aisle with its base, column stump and baptismal font is from the 18th century, the crown from the second half of the 19th century. The wooden statues of Saints Peter and Paul in the sloping choir apse and of Saints Augustine and Florian on the east wall of the transept are from the middle of the 18th century. On the left triumphal arch pillar is a tombstone of Count Ludwig Erdődy († 1794) with a relief of a grieving female figure, which was transferred here from the Kohfidisch palace chapel .
A bell was cast by Andreas Haller from Steinamanger in 1818 . The second bell was cast by Friedrich Seltenhofer from Ödenburg in 1880.
