Mönichwald parish church
The Mönichwald parish church is located in the Kirchweiler Mönichwald in the municipality of Waldbach-Mönichwald in the Hartberg-Fürstenfeld district in Styria . The parish church consecrated to Saints Peter and Paul belongs to the dean's office Vorau of the diocese of Graz-Seckau . The church and the cemetery are under monument protection ( list entry ).
history
The first church building was consecrated in 1163 and was built with the Mönichwald estate by Eckbert III. von Formbach-Pitten to his monastery Vornbach am Inn and was in its possession until the monastery was dissolved (1803). According to the inscription, the new church was built in 1716 according to the plans of the builder Remigius Horner . In 1947/1948 there was a restoration.
architecture
The three-bay, barrel-vaulted nave has transverse straps over pilasters and a surrounding cornice. The nave is connected to a square crossing with a three-corner system. The front arch shows the chronogram 1716. To the north of the third yoke of the nave is the square tower, to the south the sacristy is attached. The three-axis organ loft stands on pillars.
Outside there is an epitaph E. Schweigert died in 1796.
Furnishing
The facility was based on designs by Remigius Horner. The high altar and pulpit are designed in the footsteps of Matthias Steinl . The high altar bears figures by Andreas Schellauf, the high altar painting names the princes of the apostles Joan. Cyriak Hackhoffer pinxit Voravii 1722, also the upper picture and the four oval pictures Heaven, Hell, Antonius of Padua, Johannes Nepomuk in the nave are by Hackhoffer. The pulpit bears figures by Josef Hilt.
Nikolaus Löw von Löwenberg calls a bell in 1716.
