A church in Waldbach is first mentioned in a document in 1464. The late Gothic chancel with ribbed vaults dates from the 15th century. In 1700 the Marienkapelle and Floriani chapel were added, as well as the sacristy and frescoes, and in 1867 the side altars were erected. The old onion dome was replaced by a pointed gable dome in 1873.

The old rectory was built in 1697 and demolished in 1971. A coat of arms from 1568 was attached to the new rectory. The new rectory, although unadorned, is still protected as a cultural monument under the Hague Convention .

The first building of the parish church hll. Peter and Paul was consecrated as early as 1163 and with the Mönichwald estate by Ekbert III. von Formbach-Pitten to his house monastery Vornbach am Inn and remained in its possession until the monastery was dissolved. According to the inscription, the church was rebuilt in 1716, probably by Remigius Horner , restoration in 1947/48 and 2000.

The nave of the church has a three-bay barrel vault, cross straps over pilasters and surrounding entablature. The connected three-corner system with a square crossing is typical for the builder. Front arch with the year 1716. The sacristy is added to the south of the 3rd yoke and the square tower to the north.

The interior of the church is decorated according to designs of the architect, high altar and pulpit by the Vorauer models Matthias Steinls . The figures of the high altar are by Andreas Schellauf and the picture by Johann Cyriak Hackhofer (signed and dated with Joan. Cyriak Hackhofer pinxit Voravii 1722 ). Hackhofer also created the upper picture of the altar and four oval pictures in the nave with the themes of heaven , hell , St. Anthony of Padua and St. Johannes Nepomuk . The pulpit was built in 1741/42, also based on Horner's designs with figures by Josef Hilt . The side altars date from 1744 and 1745; Figures of Mary with Child and St. Joseph under canopies from the middle of the 18th century.

Popular stations of the cross from the second half of the 18th century. The vestry cabinet shows images of Benedict. Epitaph E. Schweigert, died in 1796 on the outer wall of the church . The bell was cast by Nikolaus Löw von Löwenberg in 1716 .
