Ernst Krupka (born October 15, 1890 in Ittowen , East Prussia , † February 25, 1991 in Vellberg ) was an East Prussian evangelist of the German Tent Mission .

Life

Krupka grew up as a farmer's son and came to the Christian faith at the age of 18. He trained as a preacher from 1909 onwards in the Community Brothers House in Preussisch Bahnau (East Prussia). Already during his training he traveled around the country preaching: “At twenty-one years old, I moved from good to good and also to some places, preached the gospel loudly in my own way and experienced many strange conversions. I was particularly concerned that I, the 21-year-old young man, also older men confessed their sins, sometimes very grossly. For the annual festival in summer, some harvest wagons came to Bahnau in four horses, packed full of my people. "

In May 1914 he followed a call from the Countess de la Tour and worked as a missionary in Carinthia . During the First World War he founded the "Christian Mission Association for Austria". After the end of the war, the "Regional Church Community Tabor" appointed him as a preacher in Königsberg / East Prussia . In 1923 Krupka began his service for the South German Association in Württemberg, whose journal "Der Weg zum Ziel" he was editor of from 1924 to 1972. From 1925 he worked as an evangelist for the German tent mission; from 1946 to 1956 he acted as its managing director. In 1941 he was imprisoned in a prison in Darmstadt for three weeks and under the supervision of the Gestapo from his release until the end of World War II . 1950–1972 Krupka was editor of the weekly "Heilig dem Herr" founded by Pastor Ernst Modersohn at the beginning of the century. From 1959 to 1966 he went on four evangelism trips to South America ; In 1960 he made one to Canada. On his 100th birthday, the Württemberg regional bishop Theo Sorg praised him as a "pioneer of evangelism work".
