Paul Kestel

Paul Kestel (born November 8, 1931 in Amberg ) is a German politician ( Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen ).

Kestel attended elementary school in Amberg and the humanistic grammar school. After graduating from high school, he studied chemistry, biology and geography at the Philosophical-Theological University of Regensburg for teaching at secondary schools. He continued his studies at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich and passed the 1st and 2nd state exams at the Rupprecht-Oberrealschule in Munich. In 1961, Kestel received his doctorate on the subject of "The connection between the leaf marks and the wood in conifers". He then worked as a teacher, first at the German School in Barcelona , then at the grammar school in Zwiesel .

From 1986 to 1990 Kestel was one of the first green members of the Bavarian State Parliament and from 1984 to 2002 a member of the Regen district council.
