The Highway 7 in British Columbia extends from Vancouver along the Fraser River east to Hope . It runs largely parallel to Highway 1 , but the Trans-Canada Highway on the north bank of the Fraser River. The highway has a length of 142 km. Sections of the highway are called the Core Route , part of the Canadian National Highway System .
Route description
The highway begins in downtown Vancouver on Highway 99 , at the intersection of Granville St. and West Broadway. The highway follows West Broadway in an easterly direction through Burnaby, touching Highway 1, but there is no direct transition between the two highways. While Highway 1 crosses the Fraser River in a southerly direction, Highway 7 remains on the north bank. In Port Coquitlam joins Highway 7A one, just before crossing the Pitt River meets yet Highway 7B , a connection to Highway 1 to. The highway runs through Maple Ridge to Mission , where Highway 11 branches off south towards Abbotsford and the United States border . Before Agassiz joins Highway 9 of Harrison Hot Springs a Coming. There is a double award for about two kilometers with both highways, then Highway 9 branches off again in a southerly direction. Highway 9 thus forms the easternmost connection between Highway 1 and Highway 7 before it joins Highway 1. Highway 7 follows the Fraser River in a northeast direction and then joins Highway 1 north of Hope.
