Highway 17A in British Columbia , the westernmost province of Canada , is an alternative route to Highway 17. Highway 17A runs west of Highway 17 and thus opens up the western coastal region of the Saanich Peninsula . The highway itself has a length of 27 km. The highway itself is no longer signposted, but is still legally listed as a provincial highway.
