The British Columbia Highway 43 is located in southeast British Columbia . It branches off in Sparwood from Highway 3 , the Crowsnest Highway , in a northerly direction and ends after 35 km in Elkford .
Route
On the outskirts of the parish of Sparwood, the highway branches off from the Crowsnest Highway pointing north. This is the easternmost junction of a high-level road from the Crowsnest Highway in British Columbia. The highway runs in the valley of the Elk River in part of the Rocky Mountains , the Kootenay Rockies. As such, the highway ends in Elkford, but the road continues north along the river valley.
