The British Columbia Highway 22 is the extension of Washington State Route 25 to Highway 3 . The highway meets Highway 3 in Castlegar . The highway is 47 km in length.

Washington State Route 25 comes from the south, the first community south of the border is Northport . Approx. 500 m after the border, the highway meets King George VI Provincial Park , at the southwest corner of which is the small community of Paterson . The highway runs north and meets shortly before Rossland on Highway 3B . For the next 10 km there is a double award with both highway names, the highway runs through the communities of Warfield and Trail . The Highway separate again in Trail. Highway 22 continues north along the Columbia River Valley , while Highway 3B runs dual-award with Highway 22A eastward. The community of Genelle is touched further, until Highway 22 then joins Highway 3, the Crowsnest Highway , in Castlegar .
