Coquihalla Highway

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Coquihalla Highway is a 186 kilometer long, formerly partially toll road in British Columbia . The fees were waived at the end of September 2008.

The multi-lane section of the Yellowhead Highway ( Highway 5 ) between Kamloops and the confluence with the Crowsnest Highway ( Highway 3 near Hope) is known as the Coquihalla Highway. This was subject to a toll from Merritt , and its use has not been subject to a fee since September 26, 2008.

It is an important shortening of the Trans-Canada Highway , but due to its exposed location it is more often closed in winter and after falling rocks.
