The Highway 3A in the province of British Columbia , Canada is divided into two parts. It represents additional routes to Highway 3. The western section has a length of 79 km, the eastern 154 km.

The western section begins in Keremeos in a northerly direction. The route leads past several small lakes. About 1 km east of Yellow Lake , a road branches off to the south, via which the Dominion Radio Astrophysical Observatory can be reached. The road ends at the small community of Kaleden on Skaha Lake in Highway 97 and, together with this back to Highway 3. In Osoyoos opens it in the Crowsnest Highway (Highway 3).

The eastern section of the highway starts in Creston . It leads north to the Shoreacres parish . Coming from the west, Highway 6 meets Highway 3A, the next 21 km run eastwards together. In Nelson , the highways separate again, Highway 6 leads south, Highway 3A follows the Kootenay River north. In Balfour Highway 31 branches off to the north , where Highway 3A is interrupted by a short ferry ride across Kootenay Lake . On the eastern shore of the lake, the highway follows the lake south and ends again on Highway 3 in Creston .
