The South German Association e. V. is a non-profit organization within the Evangelical Church and belongs to the Evangelical Gnadauer Community Association . The South German Community Association is closely linked to the Liebenzeller Mission and the Liebenzeller Community Association. The community association is a member of the Diakonisches Werk .

history

The association was founded on January 6, 1910 in Calw as the South German Association for Evangelism and Community Care by Mission Director Heinrich Coerper together with the Calw factory owner Johannes Blank, the Korntaler mathematics professor Johannes Zimmermann, the businessman Imanuel Weiser from Bad Cannstatt and Jakob Vetter from the tent mission founded. Heinrich Coerper was its chairman until November 1932. The original name was the inspiration for the abbreviation "SV" - the abbreviation and the associated logo are still up-to- date after it was renamed the South German Association in 1993 .

The association works in Württemberg. About 200 communities, 140 house groups and 160 women's groups belong to it. More than 1100 children meet regularly in children's clubs and groups of youngsters. On average, over 8,000 adults and young people attend the weekly events. The South German Youth Association Decided for Christ (EC) , or SV / EC for short, is part of the South German Community Association with 55 youth and 35 teens groups.

The Saron Day has been held annually at the “Haus Saron Guest and Conference Center” of the association since 1984.

The club is run by a group of three. The chairman is Dietmar Kamlah. Ernst Günter Wenzler has been joint inspector and director of human resources since 2005 . In January 2014, Markus Siegele replaced the previous managing director of the association Friedrich Schechinger in his office.
