A chapel was first mentioned in a document in 1209. Due to numerous pilgrimages, an extension was built between 1730 and 1735. In April 1945 the church was badly damaged. In 1946 the walls were restored and in the following years they were refurbished based on the Baroque style. The church is a cross-shaped building with a square west tower. The four initial chapels and the cruciform chapel on the church courtyard wall date from the first half of the 18th century.
