The late Gothic building was probably built around 1470 and was only later designed in the Baroque style. The high altar from 1725 shows the image of the stoning of the church patron St. Stephen . The altar area was redesigned in 1998 by the artist Augustin Schütti . The sediles , the lecture cross and the stand were modeled in clay and then cast in bronze.
