mayor

At the constituent meeting of the municipal council in April 2015, Stefan Hold (ÖVP) from Mönichwald was elected the first mayor of the newly formed municipality.

The community board also includes the deputy mayor Arrigo Kurz (ÖVP) and the community treasurer Martin Übelher (SPÖ), both from Waldbach.

Until December 31, 2014, Andreas Riegler ( ÖVP ) in the municipality of Waldbach and Josef Freiberger (ÖVP) in the municipality of Mönichwald were the incumbent mayors . As a result of the amalgamation of the municipality, there was initially no mayor. Since none of the former municipal politicians agreed to lead the municipality in protest against the amalgamation, the Provincial Government of Styria appointed Franz Schröck, an employee of the Hartberg-Fürstenfeld district administration, as government commissioner. Until the new election of the mayor, he was responsible for the official business at the constituent meeting of the municipal council.
