history

A church was documented in 1464. The church was rebuilt and expanded in 1688 and 1701 and was then elevated to a parish church. The interior of the church was restored from 1961 to 1963.

architecture

The two-bay Gothic choir with a three-eighth end and two parallel ribbed vaults was built in the second half of the 15th century together with the cross chapel attached to the north. The hall-like three-bay long house under a flat ceiling has two side arms starting from the third bay. The protruding wooden organ loft indicates the year 1815. The tower was built in 1873.

The church is richly decorated with frescoes, which were attributed to the painter Karl Ritsch for the side chapels.

Furnishing

The remarkable high altar shows the high altar picture St. Georg from the first quarter of the 18th century, restored in 1960. The two side altars were built at the same time, the left side altar bears a statue of the Virgin Mary around 1470, the right side altar is a cross altar with a remarkable tabernacle.

The font is late Gothic.

The organ was built by Friedrich Werner in 1865.
