Parish Church Meiningen (Vorarlberg)
The Roman Catholic parish church Meiningen is surrounded by a walled cemetery in the municipality of Meiningen in the Feldkirch district in Vorarlberg . The parish church , consecrated to St. Agatha , belongs to the Rankweil deanery of the Feldkirch diocese . The church is a listed building .
history
The original branch church belongs partly to Altenstadt or to the Liebfrauenbergkirche and Peterskirche in Rankweil. In 1477 a chapel with chaplaincy, a new church was raised to a parish church in 1609. In 1724 the church was extended and named a "Portkirchen" by Johann Jakob Hutsch, owner of a bleaching house. 1802 was a restoration and the installation of a vault instead of a flat ceiling. The tower was built in 1823 with Al. Weiß and Josef Allgäuer. 1961/1962 was a restoration.
architecture
The simple baroque church building with a nave and a retracted choir with a five-eighth end has a common gable roof. The south tower is by the choir. The portal has a canopy.
Furnishing
The high altar with a baroque structure with four columns, open entablature and volute extract shows the high altar image Glory of St. Agatha with the signature Franz Josef Walser pinxit 1759.
The organ was built by Anton Behmann (1890). Leonhard Ernst names a bell in 1610.
