Parish church Neukirchen an der Wild
The parish church Neukirchen an der Wild stands a little higher in a churchyard in Neukirchen an der Wild in the municipality of Brunn an der Wild in the Horn district in Lower Austria . The Roman Catholic parish church consecrated to St. Martin of Tours belongs to the deanery Horn in the diocese of St. Pölten . The church and the cemetery are under monument protection ( list entry ).
history
Initially a branch of the parish Horn des Poigreich, Neukirchen became a parish in the middle of the 11th century. Around 1210 the parish passed from the Hohenburg-Wildberg rule to the sovereign, by exchange to the Maissauer , from these to the St. Bernhard monastery , and in 1596 to the Jesuits . 1773 a camera parish, the parish went to the Klosterneuburg monastery as patronage parish in 1852 .
The church building is essentially Romanesque and has an early Gothic choir with a Romanesque tower in the northern corner of the choir. In 1523 the nave was converted into a two-aisled hall.
architecture
The church stands in a walled and rebuilt cemetery; the preserved medieval surrounding wall contains regular ashlar masonry and opus spicatum in the lower zone, and renewed with saddle roofing in the upper zone.
The nave, which is essentially Romanesque, was rebuilt in the early Gothic style around 1300 and has a steep gable roof and a smooth western front.
Furnishing
The facility was partially redesigned in 1904 by Ludwig Linzinger .
The organ was built by Franz Capek (1936).
