The parish church of Niederneukirchen is in the village of Niederneukirchen in the municipality of Niederneukirchen in Upper Austria . The Roman Catholic parish church of St. Margareta belongs to the dean's office Enns-Lorch in the Diocese of Linz . The church and the cemetery are under monument protection .

history

A church was mentioned in a document in 889. The current church building was built in 1488.

architecture

The late Gothic hall church has a two-aisled three-bay vaulted net-ribbed nave with a bevel to the front arch and a retracted three-bay vaulted choir with a three-eighth end. The northern nave was extended to the west by a yoke the width of the tower. The west tower on the south aisle with an onion helmet in baroque forms was changed in 1954.

At the head of the choir there is a chapel extension with a wrought iron grille around 1700.

Furnishing

The neo-Gothic high altar with a painting by Ferdinand Scheck the Younger bears a statue by Franz Liebert. The side altars and the pulpit are from the middle of the 18th century. On the choir walls there are late Gothic relief groups of the Visitation, Christmas, Adoration of the Kings from the beginning of the 16th century from a former Gothic winged altar. The background of the reliefs and the relief offering in the temple have been renewed. The former late baroque high altar painting of St. Francis from the second quarter of the 18th century, probably by the painter Wolfgang Andreas Heindl .
