Parish Church of Noreia
The parish church of Noreia is located in the village of Noreia in the market town of Mühlen in the Murau district in Styria . The Roman Catholic parish church , consecrated to St. Margaret of Antioch , belongs to the Murau deanery in the Graz-Seckau diocese . The church and the cemetery are under monument protection ( list entry ).
history
The church was mentioned in a document in 1324.
The late Gothic church building without buttresses was renewed after fires.
architecture
The two-bay nave is followed by a one-bay choir with a three-eighth end. The west tower with an open tower hall has an eight-sided pointed helmet, two Roman inscription stones from the 1st century are walled up on the tower. The west portal with a shoulder arch is barred and named 1515, the door has iron fittings. The sacristy to the south of the nave is two-bay and cross-vaulted and shows the remains of a Gothic portal on the east side.
The formerly Gothic vaults have been given a baroque style with stucco fields framed by eggs. The tracery has been removed from all Gothic windows. The wooden west gallery shows the pictures Cäcilia and David. In the northeastern sloping choir there is a sacrament niche with a pointed arch and a three-pass and a simple grille, the frame was changed in Baroque style. The Gothic vestibule portal is round-arched, the door has iron fittings.
Furnishing
The high altar from the second quarter of the 18th century has gallery portals. The side altars around 1720 show foliage and ribbon ornamentation. The left side altar as a so-called Mariazeller altar bears the statues of John the Baptist and Anna Himself from the 17th century. The pulpit is from the beginning of the 18th century.
The round, probably late-Gothic baptismal font has a classical crown.
There is a cast iron tombstone from 1842.
