The Roman Catholic parish church Obsteig is in the village of Unterstrass in the municipality of Obsteig in the Imst district in Tyrol . The parish church of St. Josef belongs to the dean's office in Silz in the diocese of Innsbruck . The church and the cemetery are under monument protection .

history

The simple baroque church building was officially built in 1765. The tower was built in the middle of the 19th century. The church was elevated to a parish church in 1891. A renovation took place in 1974/75.

architecture

The three-bay nave and the choir with a five-eighth end have round arched windows and are structured outside and inside with flat pilasters. The tower has arched sound windows, bent gables and a pointed helmet. The sacristy has two floors. The west facade has a curved gable over a cornice. Above the arched portal is a baroque fresco St. Josef around 1770. The interior of the church has a barrel vault with stitch caps. The round arched triumphal arch has moved in. The west gallery is made of wood.

Furnishing

The altars around 1770 have statues by Martin Falbesoner .

The high altar shows the high altar picture St. Joseph as intercessor, painted by Franz Anton Zeiller , bears the side statues Joachim and Anna by Martin Falbesoner (1773) and in the excerpt the figures Johannes Evangelist, Andreas and God the Father. The tabernacle from the end of the 18th century has reliefs of the Last Supper and the Feast of Pentecost.

The left side altar shows the image of St. Aloysius in front of Maria, carries the statues Simon and James on the side and in the excerpt a female saint and Elisabeth. The right side altar shows the image of St. Isidore with the statues Francis and Antonius and in the excerpt Katharina and Barbara. On the cafeteria is a picture of the Sacred Heart from around 1800.

The pulpit was built around 1770. A console statue of St. Josef created Hermann Rieser (1949). Josef Bachlechner the Elder (1903) created a figural shrine with the statue of Maria Immaculata . Martin Falbesoner created the guardian angel in the fourth quarter of the 18th century.

The organ was built by Johann Georg Gröber (1848). There is a bell from 1793.
