history

The parish with a church was mentioned in a document in 1229. Later, at times Protestant, the Catholic parish was rebuilt in 1669. The church was rebuilt in 1641 using older masonry and destroyed in the Turkish War in 1683. According to an inscription on the tower, the church was rebuilt from 1722 to 1728. There was a restoration outside in 1873 and inside in 1875. The north aisle was added in 1890. In 1967/1968 there was a redesign and restoration with the removal of the baroque furnishings.

architecture

The long nave has a north aisle and an open chapel and a round stair tower to the south, and next to it a three-storey bell tower with a pointed stone spire between little gables. Above the tower portal is the indication 1728. The sacristy has a modern extension to the east. The long choir has a flat, rounded apse.

The five-bay nave under a barrel vault with stitch caps with belts on pilasters is extended in the fourth bay by side niches - former side altar niches. The north wall is open with arcades to the side aisle.

Furnishing

The baroque wooden figures of the former facility are now on the pilasters, group Anna with Maria (1760), St. Barbara and Katharina (around 1700), St. Sebastian and Florian from the first half of the 18th century.
