The Roman Catholic parish church in Piringsdorf is in the center of Piringsdorf in the Oberpullendorf district in Burgenland , surrounded by the old cemetery. It is consecrated to Saints John the Baptist and Koloman and belongs to the dean's office in Oberpullendorf .

history

According to an inscription above the north portal, the church was built in 1745. In the same year she was also made a parish. In 1930 the building was extended to the south. In 1955 a renovation took place.

Architecture and equipment

The church is a simple baroque building . It has a north tower with a pointed stone pyramid as a helmet. The choir with rounded corners is the same width as the nave, which was enlarged in 1930. The church is a four-bay hall building with a flat ceiling and pilasters .

The chancel was redesigned in 1930. The high altar dates from the first half of the 19th century. Between every two pillars with entablature there is an oil painting with the " Assumption of Mary ". To the left and right of it are figures of St. John the Baptist and St. Koloman.

The simple pulpit was created in the first half of the 19th century. On the wooden lid of the baptismal font from the 18th century there is a figure of Christ at the pillar of torture .

Next to the tower is a warrior memorial chapel with a baroque crucifix in a newer version.
