history

The place is considered an early center of pastoral care, probably mentioned in a document in 1111, certainly 1122 as a parish of the Diocese of Passau . In 1547 the church was incorporated into St. Florian Monastery.

From the smaller previous building, gable slopes on the east gable have been preserved in the attic. The choir was built around 1400. After a lengthy break in construction, construction in the west began with the year 1439, the gallery parapet mentions 1490, the nave mentions 1497. The tower was built in the 15th century and raised in the neo-Gothic style in 1864. The sacristy was built in the late 17th century. A renovation took place from 1880 to 1995, during which stone stones were added and revised. The confessional was built around 1900.

architecture

The remarkable late Gothic hall church also impresses with its neo-Gothic furnishings.

The four-bay nave has a three-aisled west bay with the other bays continued with two aisles, analogous to the parish church of Bad Kreuzen and the parish church of Mauthausen . The star rib vault in the east on two octagonal central pillars contain vortex wheels and are set apart in the design from the vault in Westjoch with simpler but different rib configurations. The west gallery shows a remarkable tracery parapet. The smaller, strongly drawn-in one-bay choir with a five-eighth end is vaulted with cross ribs. The late Gothic west tower with its massive masonry has a neo-Gothic structure. A confessional is built in the northern corner of the choir and a single-storey sacristy in the southern corner.

Furnishing

The furnishings are remarkably uniform in a neo-Gothic style with elaborately carved altars by Josef Untersberger . The single figure of St. In 1997, Remigius created Leopold Raffetseder as a copy of the original by the Lorcher master around 1520 in the Lauriacum Museum in Enns. The people's altar consists partly of the former pulpit by Josef Kepplinger (1898) from the Niederlassung church .

The Rieger brothers built the harmonium with 3 registers in the fourth quarter of the 19th century.
